Help Sloths
Cross Safely
Your donation builds wildlife
bridges and saves lives
Help us fund three wildlife canopy bridges made from recycled power cables to enable sloths to safely cross fragmented rainforest.
Ecoflix team members are working with The Sloth Conservation Foundation to build and install wildlife canopy bridges, helping reduce injuries and deaths caused by roads, dogs, and power-line electrocution.
Each bridge costs $1,000 and we want to help SCF build 3!
About the bridges
Increasing urbanisation in places like Costa Rica has broken once-continuous forests into isolated patches, leaving slow-moving sloths vulnerable to cars, dogs and power-line electrocution, which kill an estimated 3,000 sloths each year. These bridges provide a simple, proven solution. Over 370 installations have already reconnected around 8,000 hectares of forest and reduced wildlife conflict by 82%.
SCF is now using a safer, more durable bridge design made from repurposed electricity and telephone cables. These bridges last longer, span greater distances, and avoid introducing new plastics into the environment. The best news is that they are also quick to build. Each bridge takes around two weeks to construct, with installation following shortly after. In most cases, the entire process is completed within just 1–2 months.
SCF and Ecoflix:
The Sloth Conservation Foundation is a Costa Rica-based, international non-profit. It works to protect wild sloths through scientific research, habitat restoration, and community education to prevent extinction. Key initiatives include building canopy bridges, re-insulating power lines, and creating protected wildlife corridors. Ecoflix are currently donating to SEF to support the day-to-day missions and rehabilitation, but we need your help to build more of these life-saving bridges.
